It’s my favorite time of year!! Holiday season! As I’ve gotten older and understood what Thanksgiving actually means for the native people of this land. I’ve decided not to put stock in the holiday. It doesn’t have the same meaning it use to. I utilize the time as a break from work and spend time with loved ones and recharge. Some years I don’t celebrate all together. On the years that I do, I LOOOVVVEE a restaurant Thanksgiving!!

Say what you want but I think it’s the best thing ever!! I don’t have to cook, there’s always a nice prefixed menu, I get to dress up, and I get a one meal worth of left over not a week. I don’t have to clean up anything, and I’m not forced to stay in any unpleasant family environments due to it being a “holiday”. Genius!

Because it was Thanksgiving I didn’t feel I could take my time making my decision on whether to choose from the prefix menus or go a la carte with sea bass and scallops. The waiter was hovering over our table so I just went with The prefixed. I don’t like turkey and never really have, so I hoped because it was a high end restaurant it wouldn’t be a regular tasting turkey. I was right. It was actually pretty delicious. They had amazing biscuits with honey butter one of my favorites. The sides were also very good as well.

I ate about half of my meal and asked for the rest to be boxed up. I was disappointed the next day when there was no to-go ramekin of honey butter for my biscuit. He left out my cranberry sauce, there was also no to-go ramekin of gravy for the turkey. Which I realized is what made it so delicious!! Uhhhh

Overall I had a good experience spending time with my aunt and uncle and the food at dinner was delicious. I went back for Easter dinner with my family and had an even better time with a less elaborate meal.

XOXO,

KVT
