Cuisine: Asian Fusion

$$

I found this gem through a date. I absolutely love when a restaurant incorporates different cuisines to make a fusion! The best part is I had never heard of it and it was definitely my type of jam. Like, show me something new!! Ok! The best part was the food. It was amazing and authentic. I haven't had a chance to go back but I plan to make a trip this summer!

We ate downstairs, it was candlelit and intimate. We had a nice little booth in the corner and when I arrived there was already Sake and edamame on the table. I was definitely feeling the scene. I had a wonderful meal and great conversation. My date was handsome, stylish, accomplished, and loved an experience like myself. I was like well this is refreshing!!

We had a couple of different plates of sushi which I devoured because I Love Sushi.  We also had a great conversation which is the quickest way to my heart. After, we decided to hit up Marvin’s even though it was Monday. Apparently, Marvin’s jumps on Monday nights. Who knew?

After having a few drinks and meeting a couple of his friends I got the age-old sentence “So, I have to be honest with you.... Now I’m thinking, “O lord he’s gay or got like 16 kids what now”?! He said, I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND who lives in London. In my mind, I’m like wait whaaaaatttt?!?! My thoughts: You pressed me out for a date after we met, we just had a great engaging conversation like no one else was in the room! How could you give me that type of energy when you are taken?! #Baffaling

Any-who, my usual inquisitive self asked a number of questions about how he operates in DC with a long distance girlfriend. Also I inquired about the dynamics of the relationship. I think he was hoping  I would be down to be his DC Chick. Well, he was sadly mistaken! Needless to say I left with mixed emotions about the night but in good spirits. Hey, at least it was a good night.

Ladies, has this ever happened to you? I’ve run into this on a number of occasions where a guy will give you a swoon-worthy date night all to crash and burn at the end and want to be “honest” with you about his live-in or long term girlfriend! Is this just a DC thing or we are in our 20’s type of thing? Let me know in the comments below.

XOXO,

KVT
