A Well Fragranced Home
If you’re anything like me then nothing makes you happier then to come home to a beautiful smelling house clothed in your favorite scent. I prefer soy candles because they are better for the environment and they burn longer (win, win right?!?!). I personally love a warm, sweet, musky scent, a floral calming scent, fruity and citrusy scents, or just a clean scent for around the home. Things such as vanilla, brown sugar, gardenia, peony, lavender, jasmine, cotton linen, powder, raspberry, and lemony scents. I have a few go-to candle brands: Diptyque, Jo Malone, and Henri Bendel.
Some people burn their candles all day long when you invest in candles as expensive as these one doesn’t want to waste them. Making them last means burning them with purpose and intention. I burn my candles when I’m getting dressed for a night out with friends, when I need to start cleaning/ organizing something, or when someone is coming over. I burn them for the duration of the task then I blow them out. Most soy candles will last anywhere from 45-60 hours of burn time.
I generally like different scents for different areas of the house; for instance, I love nothing more than the smell of clean cotton linen or a mix of lavender and vanilla in my bedroom to keep thing serene and calm. I love fruity or citrusy scents in the bathroom so it feels fresh and clean. I use warm/ sweet scents around the rest of the home which makes it feel more inviting. Having a beautiful smelling home is essential to the art of living. Scent is one of the five senses that can instantly change a person’s mood for the better. It also helps lock in memories, so next time someone is on their way over don’t forget to light that freshly baked cookie candle and see the difference in how they experience your home.
